Spectrum Tubes

The Spectrum Tubes are expertly created glass tubes used to display emission spectra and spectral lines. These tubes have an overall length of 26 cm, but 8.5 to 10 cm of that length is painstakingly shrunk to capillary width. Effective gas excitation and the creation of separate emission lines are guaranteed by this architecture.

Description

The Spectrum Tubes are expertly created glass tubes used to display emission spectra and spectral lines. These tubes have an overall length of 26 cm, but 8.5 to 10 cm of that length is painstakingly shrunk to capillary width. Effective gas excitation and the creation of separate emission lines are guaranteed by this architecture.

Metal wires firmly anchor the electrodes, which are in charge of gas excitation. These wires are welded to metal caps and sealed through the ends of the tube, ensuring structural integrity and the safe containment of the gas inside. Additionally, the metal caps have loops that make it simple to connect them to external wiring and electrical systems.

The Spectrum Tubes are essential tools for demonstrating the spectral emission phenomenon and the distinctive signature of many elements when activated by electrical discharge. They improve our understanding of how atoms and molecules behave when exposed to electrical energy by providing an eye-catching technique to see and study the distinctive spectral lines produced by various gases.

Heating Effect, Platinum Foil

Vacuum Apparatus
A powerful experimental demonstration called "The Heating Effect with Platinum Foil" was created to show how cathode rays may change the structure of materials. The interaction of cathode rays with a platinum foil to produce tremendous heat is demonstrated in this instructional setting in a visually attractive way. In the experiment, a platinum foil target is illuminated with cathode rays. The cathode rays' energy is transformed into heat as they hit the foil, making it extremely hot. This visually striking metamorphosis amply demonstrates the cathode rays' heating action and their capacity to cause large temperature increases.

Electrical Radiometer, Mechanical Effect

Vacuum Apparatus
A fascinating tool created to demonstrate how electrical and mechanical forces interact is the Electrical Radiometer with Mechanical Effect. This device consists of a glass sphere with two disc electrodes on either side, along with a number of mica vanes arranged on a vertical spindle. Vanes move in opposite directions as a result of the rotation that cathode rays cause when they strike them.

Rectilinear Propagation of Cathode Rays

Vacuum Apparatus
A specialised demonstration tool used to illustrate the fundamental idea that cathode rays propagate in straight lines is the Rectilinear Propagation of Cathode Rays device. To visually emphasise this idea, the device has a distinctive V-shaped structure. A cathode disc sits in the middle of the V-shaped device. This centre location produces cathode rays. The apparatus's V-shaped design makes sure that the cathode rays that are released extend in straight lines that are parallel to the cathode disc's surface.

Repulsion Tube

Vacuum Apparatus
A specialised vertical contraption called the Repulsion Tube was created to graphically illustrate the idea of electrical repulsion between charged particles. This teaching tool offers a fascinating and instructive method to watch and comprehend how charged particles behave in an electric field. The tube is made out of a vertical container with cathodes made of two parallel wires at its opposing ends. The charged particles that these cathodes are intended to emit are typically electrons. A third electrode, which acts as the anode, is positioned in between the cathodes. Charged particles are released from the cathodes and travel towards the anode when a potential difference is applied between the cathodes and the anode.

Canal Ray Tube

Vacuum Apparatus
A specialised tool called the Canal Ray Tube is used to visually illustrate the characteristics of positive rays. Through the use of this educational application, students can witness and comprehend how canal ray behaviour and interactions with magnetic fields work. Two fused discs are located at each end of the equipment, which has a vertical form. A perforated cathode in the centre allows canal rays to pass through it. The area below the cathode is illuminated by the distinctive glow of cathode rays. The tube's upper section is used to display canal rays.

Magnetic Deflection of an Electron Beam

Vacuum Apparatus
A specially designed instrument called the Magnetic Deflection of an Electron Beam apparatus was created to make it easier to observe visually how an electron beam reacts to a magnetic field. This instructional tool offers an engaging way to research how magnetic forces interact with charged particles. The device is made up of a deflection tube that is firmly held by a power source. A cathode and an anode are present in the deflection tube. When impacted by electrons, the phosphorous coating on the cathode end glows. It is possible to see the trajectory of the electron beam thanks to this glowing effect.
