Filter Paper, Grade 1: 9µm

A versatile and often used filter paper, Grade 1 Filter Paper, has pores that measure 9 micrometres, making it appropriate for common laboratory applications. It balances medium retention with medium flow rate, making it suitable for a range of jobs. For liquid clearing in a variety of laboratory operations, this grade is frequently used. Its efficiency in qualitative analytical separations is widely known, especially for precipitates such calcium carbonate, heated calcium oxalate, and lead sulphate.

Filter Paper, Grade 2: 9µm

A multipurpose filter paper with a particle size of 9 micrometres, Grade 2 Filter Paper is distinguished from Grade 1 by having somewhat higher retention and greater absorption capacity. This property allows for a wider range of applications while extending the filtering time. Despite being appropriate for general filtrations, Grade 2 Filter Paper's improved absorbency finds use in niche jobs. For instance, it's used to keep soil nutrients in during tests on plant growth, which effectively aids in proper research. Its ability to absorb substances also makes it excellent for tracking particular toxins in the air and soil, making it a helpful tool for environmental and soil testing projects.

Filter Paper, Grade 3: 5µm

With its greater thickness, finer particle retention, and outstanding loading capacity, Grade 3 Filter Paper, which has pores with a diameter of 5 m, offers enhanced capabilities. It offers a reliable answer for a variety of laboratory activities. Grade 3 filter paper is nearly twice as thick as Grade 1 filter paper, which improves wet strength and durability. This quality makes it ideally suited for use in Buchner funnels, where its increased strength improves filtration techniques. Its greater adaptability is further enhanced by the finer particle retention, which enables effective filtration of more delicate compounds without clogging.

Filter Paper, Grade 4: 22µm

A common option for applications requiring high air flow rates in air pollution monitoring, where fine particle collection is not the main concern, is Grade 4 Filter Paper, which has pores with a diameter of 22 microns. Particularly for coarse particles and gelatinous precipitates like ferric hydroxide and aluminium hydroxide, this grade exhibits outstanding retention capacities and performs exceptionally well in quick filtration procedures.

With pores between 2.5 and 3 m, Grade 5 Filter Paper is a dependable and adaptable option for a variety of scientific applications. It excels at activities requiring clarification, making it perfect for analysing water, dirt, and murky suspensions.
