Autoclave, Gas

An autoclave, also known as a gas-powered or gas-fired autoclave, is a form of sterilisation equipment that uses gas as the primary source of heat to produce steam during the sterilisation process. In contrast to electric autoclaves, which utilise electricity to heat the heating element, gas autoclaves generate heat by burning gas, often natural gas or propane.

Gas autoclaves have gas burners that burn the gas fuel to achieve high temperatures. Gas autoclaves, like other autoclaves, sterilise by using high-pressure steam. Controls are provided to manage the temperature and pressure inside the autoclave chamber. The gas burners in gas autoclaves can be manually or automatically ignited. Automatic ignition improves convenience while also ensuring safe and dependable operation.
