Description
A distillation apparatus is a setup used to separate a mixture of two liquids by heating it to a temperature where one liquid turns into vapor (boils) while the other remains in liquid form. This process capitalizes on the differing boiling points of the liquids. The kit includes a 300 mm Liebig condenser, which cools the vapor back into liquid form, a 50 mm diameter Kjeldahl flask to hold the mixture, a 500 ml boiling flask for heating, a cast iron base with a support rod for stability, a clamp, a tripod, and a wire gauze for safe heating, and a 500 ml Erlenmeyer flask for collecting the condensed liquid. This device is frequently used in laboratories for various scientific and experimental objectives because it allows regulated separation of liquids based on their boiling points.
