A highly dependable sectioning machine designed for precise sectioning of tissues with a thickness of up to 1 micron. It incorporates a front-mounted feed indication with a cam drive system for precise feed setting from 1 to 50 microns in 1 micron increments. Independent feed mechanism with automatic safety device, universal knife holder with lateral movement to allow use of entire knife edge, ball and flange type object holder for accurate specimen centering, and full swing protective cover for easy cleaning and lubrication are among the notable features. Because individual components are created using current procedures, the equipment ensures flawless operation throughout the instrument’s long life. The microtome razor is made of fine grain steel alloy that has been microstructure tested and heat treated to keep its shape.
