Description
To gauge the pressure created by sap flowing from a severed stem, a device called a root pressure manometer is employed. It has a graduated manometer that measures pressure precisely and has marks from 0 to 200 mm. Through a rubber tube or piece of tape, the manometer is fastened to the plant’s clipped stem. This arrangement is perfect for plants that prefer damp soil. Researchers may measure the pressure produced by the plant’s sap flow by analysing the manometer’s response, which advances knowledge of root pressure and plant physiology.
