Description
An easy-to-use tool for examining plant transpiration and water absorption is the Student’s Potometer. It comprises of a glass tube with dimensions of 160 x 20 mm and a side arm with a diameter of 8 mm to hold a plant. A solid rubber stopper seals the top end, while a rubber stopper with a hole is present at the bottom. A capillary tube of 140 mm in length is part of the arrangement. This potometer is a straightforward yet useful instrument for instructional purposes in the study of botany by allowing monitoring of water movement in plants and demonstrating transpiration and water absorption processes.
