Potometer, Farmer’s

The Farmer’s Potometer is a device used to study how much water plants absorb during transpiration. It has a reservoir with a three-hole stopper in it. A graded capillary tube measuring 390 mm in length is safely held by the stopper. A brief glass tube with a diameter of 10 mm is also included in the configuration to support the plant shoot. A 25 ml funnel with a stopcock is also included, giving the user a regulated way to add water to the system. This arrangement makes it possible to investigate how water moves through plants, showing how transpiration and water absorption work, and allowing research into the field of plant biology.

Apparatus for Measuring Work Performed by Swelling Seeds

Plant Physiology
An apparatus called the Apparatus for Measuring labour Performed by Swelling Seeds is used to calculate the amount of mechanical labour that expanding seeds perform during the germination process. The contraption has a base with a jar that can hold the expanding seeds. It has a measurement scale and a pointer. The pointer moves along the scale as the seeds enlarge and exert force inside the jar, giving a numerical assessment of the labour the seeds did during germination. With this set up, scientists can measure the energy that seeds expend throughout growth, which helps them comprehend seed germination and mechanical processes in plants.

Potometer, Ganong’s

Plant Physiology
The Ganong's Potometer is a specialised tool used to depict and quantify plant transpiration and water absorption rates. It has a graded capillary tube with a tiny opening at one end that is bent at a right angle. The water reservoir with a glass stopcock is at the other end. This end has a tube with a rubber stopper that can hold a plant sprout. The entire device is supported by a base. This set up makes it possible to observe and measure water movement, illuminating the transpiration and water absorption processes in plants and offering a useful tool for botanical studies.

Potometer, Student’s

Plant Physiology
An easy-to-use tool for examining plant transpiration and water absorption is the Student's Potometer. It comprises of a glass tube with dimensions of 160 x 20 mm and a side arm with a diameter of 8 mm to hold a plant. A solid rubber stopper seals the top end, while a rubber stopper with a hole is present at the bottom. A capillary tube of 140 mm in length is part of the arrangement. This potometer is a straightforward yet useful instrument for instructional purposes in the study of botany by allowing monitoring of water movement in plants and demonstrating transpiration and water absorption processes.

Potometer, Simple

Plant Physiology
A simple tool used to gauge how quickly a plant is absorbing water is called a potometer. A glass tube with stoppers at either end makes up the device. A capillary tube with a millimetre graduation is included in the lower stopper to enable accurate measurement of water flow. The upper stopper has two openings: one for a 2 ml syringe to manage the placement of air bubbles during setup, and another for a glass tube to hold the plant shoot, connected via a rubber tube. This potometer system makes it possible to observe and measure how much water plants are absorbing, which is helpful for studying transpiration and water transport processes in plants.

Apparatus for Demonstration of Osmotic Pressure

Plant Physiology
The Pfeiffer's Apparatus for Demonstration of Osmotic Pressure is a thorough setup created to visually explain the idea of osmotic pressure. The apparatus shown in the images has every part that is required. It enables users to comprehend the concepts of osmosis and osmotic pressure. With the use of this equipment, students may observe how solvent molecules flow across a semi-permeable membrane and how this causes pressure changes. The entire system provides a useful and instructive way to investigate the concepts of osmotic pressure.

Apparatus for Investigating Pressure Effects Due to Osmotic Pressure

Plant Physiology
A research setup called the Apparatus for Investigating Pressure Effects Due to Osmotic Pressure was created to investigate how osmotic pressure affects pressure differentials. This device enables researchers to investigate how pressure conditions within a controlled system are impacted by osmotic pressure, which results from the passage of solvent molecules over a semi-permeable membrane. Scientists can learn more about osmosis-related events and better understand the interactions between solutes and solvents across membranes by varying solute concentrations and monitoring the subsequent pressure changes. In a controlled experimental setting, this apparatus is a useful tool for examining how osmotic pressure affects pressure differentials.

Root Pressure Manometer

Plant Physiology
To gauge the pressure created by sap flowing from a severed stem, a device called a root pressure manometer is employed. It has a graduated manometer that measures pressure precisely and has marks from 0 to 200 mm. Through a rubber tube or piece of tape, the manometer is fastened to the plant's clipped stem. This arrangement is perfect for plants that prefer damp soil. Researchers may measure the pressure produced by the plant's sap flow by analysing the manometer's response, which advances knowledge of root pressure and plant physiology.
